Rapid Access Neurology
A virtual pathway for emergency patients who are safe to leave, and who still need a neurologist soon. The follow-up is part of the hospital's program. It is not a phone number handed to the patient at discharge.
Who the pathway is for
- TIA and minor stroke, when the emergency physician is discharging the patient.
- First seizure.
- Headache that needs neurology rather than an admission.
What changes at discharge
The patient leaves with a guaranteed rapid neurology follow-up by video, arranged through the hospital. Fieldstone Neuro does not publish a clock time for that visit. There is no Fieldstone Neuro clinic to drive to. The Austin address on this site is a mailing address only.
